A grassroots football club in Swindon is championing inclusion for deaf children through a campaign launched by coach Harvey Scholes of HS Sports. By making small communication adjustments, the club has enabled two young players to thrive alongside their hearing teammates. Nine-year-old Stanley, who was born deaf and received cochlear implants as a baby, now plays for three teams, including England’s deaf football team. Ten-year-old Jacob, who wears hearing aids, shares the same Premier League dreams and says his hearing challenges don’t stop his love for the game. Their story has drawn international attention and support, showing how simple steps toward accessibility can empower young athletes and prove that disability is no barrier to talent or ambition.
