Fast Food Chain Protecting Kids

Chicken Cottage, a UK fast-food chain with around 70 locations, has partnered with The Children’s Society to help tackle child exploitation. Staff across cities like Luton, Manchester, Newcastle, London, and Bradford are receiving specialized training on how to spot warning signs—such as grooming tactics where someone offers food or gifts to gain a child’s trust—and how to escalate concerns safely. Stores are also becoming designated “safe community spaces” where vulnerable young people can seek help. In addition to raising awareness, Chicken Cottage is supporting local fundraising efforts through in-store campaigns and its app. The initiative shows how everyday businesses can make a meaningful impact by equipping their teams to intervene early and help protect at-risk youth.
