Abandoned oil refineries and industrial sites that once harmed the environment are now being taken over by nature and transforming into unexpected havens for wildlife. In many areas, the oil industry has left behind rotting equipment and polluted land, but that hasn’t stopped plants, birds, insects, and small mammals from adapting to the altered landscape to make it their own. While some former refinery sites have been intentionally restored with new natural habitats in mind, while others are being reclaimed by nature without any interference.
