Walking Across Europe in Heels

Dora Alcover spent 280 days last year walking across Spain, France, Monaco, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary, Serbia, and Romania— and she did it all in a pair of high heels. Her nine-month journey was driven by a mission to raise awareness about human trafficking, and she successfully raised tens of thousands of dollars for a girls’ empowerment program in Romania. Alcover intentionally mapped her route through regions where trafficking is most prevalent in Europe, using the physical challenge of walking in heels as a symbol of the pressures many women face. Along the way, she documented her journey online and connected with communities she encountered, sparking meaningful conversations and shedding light on an often-overlooked issue. Her determination and resilience have inspired people around the world to take action and advocate for change.
