A 23-year-old Polish streamer has sparked a global wave of generosity after turning a simple idea into one of the largest charity livestreams ever, raising more than $68 million for children battling cancer. Piotr Hancke, known online as “Łatwogang,” went live for nine straight days from his apartment in Warsaw—an endurance challenge inspired by a TikTok post where each “like” added time to the stream, ultimately keeping him online for over a week. Throughout the stream, he played an emotional anthem created with a young cancer patient on repeat, while celebrities, athletes, and viewers around the world joined in to donate, chat, and support Hancke’s mission. What began as a modest fundraising goal quickly turned into a global movement, with millions tuning in and contributing to a record-breaking total. Hancke’s unique project shows the power of collective action via social media, ultimately helping him make a meaningful difference in the lives of children enduring cancer treatment.
