A 12-year-old boy named Jase Garland, battling a rare blood disorder, got to live out his ultimate dream—becoming a Carolina Panthers quarterback for a day, thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. After enduring a bone marrow transplant to treat myelodysplastic syndrome, Jase was granted the wish that inspired him through his recovery. At the Panthers’ facility, he signed a mock contract, lifted weights, shared team camaraderie with Bryce Young, and suited up in the locker room. To round out his incredible day as quarterback, Jase took a handoff during a scrimmage and sprinted into the end zone for a touchdown—surrounded by cheering teammates and celebratory dance moves. His mother described his journey as “really quick and scary,” but praised his resilience, saying he’s “taking this like a champ.” The experience brought light and laughter to his family after a challenging year, demonstrating the power of making dreams come true.
