The largest trial of the four-day workweek to date involved nearly 2,900 employees across 141 companies in six countries—the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. Over a six-month period, workers who shifted to four days of work without a pay cut reported significantly improved mental and physical health, reduced stress and burnout, and greater job satisfaction. More than 90% of companies chose to continue with the four-day schedule after the trial ended. These findings suggest that well-rested employees can work more efficiently and with greater well-being, offering a powerful model for harmonizing productivity and happiness.
