Scientists at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology have developed an innovative spray-on powder that can stop severe bleeding almost instantly. The spray transforms into a strong gel barrier when it comes into contact with blood, sealing wounds in about a second. Designed with emergency and battlefield conditions in mind, the powder combines natural, biocompatible materials that react with elements in the blood to quickly form a protective seal even on deep or irregular injuries, overcoming limitations of traditional bandages and patches. Since it remains stable in storage and works rapidly in harsh environments, this technology could offer a major new tool for first responders, surgeons and medical teams by dramatically improving the chances of survival in critical bleeding situations, offering hope for faster, more effective emergency care around the world.
