Li Dongju, a 66-year-old grandmother from China, has embarked on an inspiring journey to explore the world by bicycle, defying age-related expectations. After her first international trip at 56, Li began cycling through 12 countries across Southeast Asia, Europe, and Oceania. Despite facing challenges such as language barriers, cultural differences, and even losing her gear, Li pushed forward with determination, overcoming tough weather in places like Laos, where she was left stranded without water. Traveling on a limited budget, she relies on local hospitality and often stays with strangers who she meets along the way. Li began traveling as a way to combat depression, and the life-changing experiences have given her a renewed sense of purpose and joy. Li now has her eyes set on visiting 100 countries, and is committed to encouraging others, especially women in China, to embrace adventure with courage and open-mindedness.
