Crossing Guard Retires in Sweet Ceremony

A 94-year-old crossing guard in New Jersey has retired after 57 years of serving kids in her community. Claire Bauman has been working at Horace Mann Elementary School in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, since 1965. Nearly six decades later, Bauman has helped students safely cross the street for the last time. Her retirement celebration brought the school community together, complete with a limousine, balloons, and plenty of well wishes. Bauman was known at Horace Mann Elementary for her kind demeanor and friendships with the kids. She told Fox29, “The kids got me through a lot of things in my life.”
