Mexico City Bans Bullfighting

Mexico City has instituted an indefinite ban on bullfighting, sparking joy for animal advocates and sorrow for cultural traditionalists. The decision comes shortly after a poll in Mexico found that the majority of Mexican citizens supported a bullfighting moratorium. Though bullfighting is a traditional cultural practice in Mexico and Spain, the activity ends with the bull being killed most of the time. If the bullfighting ban is upheld, it could create an end to the practice worldwide. Animal rights activists are thrilled at the decision, which will save thousands of bulls per year.
