Billionaire Donates Fortune

Charles “Chuck” Feeney, an accomplished entrepreneur and philanthropist, managed to give away the entirety of his $8 billion personal fortune before passing away earlier this month at 92 years old. Feeney was committed to giving back to those in need throughout his career, writing in his biography, “It’s much more fun to give while you are alive than to give when you are dead.” The Irish-American founded Duty Free Shoppers, a prominent airport chain, and eventually established Atlantic Philanthropies for his charitable endeavors. Feeny’s donations spanned five continents and primarily benefited organizations focusing on education, human rights, and global health.
