Lloyd Martin, a 19-year-old runner with Down Syndrome, became the youngest person to finish a marathon in the intellectual impairment category. Martin’s mom, Ceri Hooper, went on training runs with the teen for five months leading up to the London Marathon, where the mother-son duo ran side by side. Crowds cheered on Martin and Hooper the entire route, leading to an emotional finish line crossing. The Guinness World Records presented Martin with a certificate for his historic achievement at the end of the race, which is now his most prized possession.
