Wildlife Conservation Bill

The Recovering America’s Wildlife Act, aka RAWA, has bipartisan support and is set to pass in Congress in the coming months. The act includes $1.4 billion per year to fund wildlife conservation and restoration efforts across the country. RAWA’s goal is to protect the thousands of plants and animals that are on the endangered species list. The funding will be distributed to states, who will each decide how to spend the money depending on their specific conservation needs. If passed, RAWA will be the most formidable piece of legislation since the Endangered Species Act of 1973. Wildlife advocates and environmentalists are thrilled at the news— it’s about time people in power started taking conservation seriously!
