When Jesus Morales picks up day laborers from Home Depots in Southern California, it’s not to help him with landscaping or home renovations. He pays the laborers for a full day, but takes them to Disneyland instead of putting them to work. Most of the 50 workers Morales has taken to Disney over the past year are Spanish-speaking immigrants who have never experienced the joys of having a day to enjoy themselves at a theme park. Morales posts videos of these Disneyland journeys to his 5 million TikTok followers in an effort to share the stories of immigrants. His followers often send donations for Morales to give to the workers he meets, which is an added treat they receive at the end of a magical day at Disneyland.
