The winner of The American Humane Hero Dog Award is selected by voters who choose an outstanding canine who has overcome trauma to lead an amazing life. This year, a mutt named Ethan has taken the title. Ethan was discovered in a parking lot in Jeffersonville, Indiana in January 2021, he was extremely underweight and had severe medical issues. The person who found Ethan formed a special bond with him and visited him every night at the animal hospital. Ethan’s owner ultimately adopted him, and the two have been inseparable ever since. Thankfully, Ethan made a full recovery and now inspires dogs and people alike who are overcoming medical challenges. Congratulations, Ethan!
