Fishermen Help Ukraine Drone Attacks

In a heartfelt show of solidarity, fishermen from the Brittany region of France have been collecting and sending their used deep-sea fishing nets to Ukraine so they can be repurposed to help protect people and infrastructure from frequent drone attacks. These strong nets, which can stretch several miles long, are finding a second life after being used to catch strong sealife like monkfish. The nets are stretched over roads, bridges, hospitals and other vulnerable sites to ensnare and disrupt small attack drones, offering a simple but effective form of low-tech defense on the frontlines. The effort, organized by local volunteers and charities working with the fishing community, has transformed what would have been waste into a life-saving resource, and has drawn a sense of shared purpose across borders in support of civilians and soldiers alike.
