In Oahu, Hawaii, a new cat cafe is slated to open that has a focus on helping young adults with disabilities and animal rescue. Toe Beans & Dreams Adoption Cafe will hire young adults with developmental disabilities to serve customers coffee and snacks. Toe Beans & Dreams wants to create an inclusive environment for all people to relax, and they plan on including a communal space to host skills training for kids and adults with disabilities. The cafe will also house rescued cats who are looking for their forever families. By shopping at Toe Beans & Dreams, customers can empower young people with disabilities, save a cat, and get a delicious coffee. The unique name comes from the word used for paw pads on cats’ feet— “Toe Beans”.
