Woodworking for a Good Cause

Massachusetts based artist Mike Mittelman decided to put his woodworking skills to the test to raise money for food banks. As food insecurity issues became more prominent during the pandemic, Mittelman knew he had to help. He launched the Bowls for Food organization, which sends a handcrafted wooden bowl to people who provide a receipt for donating to a food bank. The unique initiative has encouraged individuals to donate to the worthy cause and has raised over $20,000 so far. Mike has enlisted his kids to help him make the bowls, teaching them important skills about artistry and giving back along the way.
