Singer Creates Banned Book Library

Dua Lipa is bringing her love of books into the real world with the launch of the Manifesto Library, a permanent collection of banned, censored, and challenged books inside the historic Livraria Lello bookshop in Porto, Portugal. Created through her Service95 Book Club, the library features 100 books organized around themes like power, control, voice, and memory, including works by authors such as Margaret Atwood, Salman Rushdie, Olga Tokarczuk, and Reginald Dwayne Betts. The goal is to create a space where readers can engage with books that have challenged authority, sparked debate, or been restricted because of their ideas. The project turns reading into a form of connection and conversation, giving people a place to discover important voices, think critically, and celebrate the freedom to read.
