Rapper Meek Mill decided to give back this holiday season by helping to reunite families that have been separated due to incarceration. The 35-year-old Philadelphia native paid the bail costs for 20 women at Riverside Correctional Facility in his hometown. Additionally, Meek Mill gave gift cards to each of the women so they could purchase groceries and gifts for the holidays. Meek Mill has been an advocate for criminal justice reform and told CBS3, “No one should have to spend the holidays in jail simply because they can’t afford bail, and no child should be without their parents during this time if we can do something about it.”
