Candace Lark, a gifted harpist from Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, is using her talents to break barriers and uplift others. Having taken up the harp at age 13, she quickly discovered both a passion and a purpose—often finding herself as the only Black musician in classical music spaces. Determined to change that, Lark has since become an award-winning performer and dedicated mentor, helping young musicians, especially girls of color, find their voice through music. This year, she’s launching a first-of-its-kind summit for Black harpists to connect, collaborate, and inspire one another. Her work is not just about music—it's about representation, access, and creating a more inclusive future for the next generation of artists.
