Brothers Run for Dementia Awareness

Two brothers with a rare genetic form of dementia have completed an extraordinary challenge across Ireland to raise awareness and funding for research. Jordan and Cian Adams ran 32 marathons in 32 days—one in every county of Ireland—after losing their mother, Geraldine, to frontotemporal dementia, an aggressive form of the disease. Both brothers carry the same gene mutation and have a 99.9% chance of developing the condition in their 40s. Motivated by their family's experience, they set out to turn their diagnosis into action, raising over $2 million for dementia research and support services. Along the way, they were welcomed by communities across the country, helping spark conversations about a disease that is often misunderstood. The brothers say their goal is to use the healthy years they have left to bring hope to other families, support scientific research, and help create a better future for people affected by dementia.
