The Tulare county district attorney’s office has a new lawyer on staff, and he’s making history as California’s youngest practicing attorney. 18-year-old Peter Park learned last month that he had passed the state’s bar exam on his first attempt. Park was able to enroll in a four year at Northwestern California University School of Law at 13 years old due to a state rule allowing students to apply to law school upon completion of College Level Proficiency Exams. Park has been working at the district attorney’s office since graduating law school, but wasn’t able to be officially sworn in as a practicing attorney until passing the bar. Park attributes his success to being open to alternative paths to reach his goals.
