Back in 1994, second grader Megan Lewis formed a pen-pal friendship with high school junior Suzanne Koziol through a school program designed to connect younger students with upperclassmen. Over time, the two lost touch, but decades later Megan was reminded of their bond when she rediscovered their handwritten letters while visiting her family home over the holidays. Curious about what had become of her childhood pen pal, Megan searched Suzanne’s name online and was stunned to learn that Suzanne Koziol was now Dr. Suzanne Pugh — the OB-GYN who had delivered both of her children, Caroline and Jack, years earlier. Megan quickly reached out to share the discovery, and Dr. Pugh was just as amazed by the coincidence. The two have since reunited, beginning a new chapter in their friendship and marveling at the twist of fate that unknowingly kept their lives intertwined for decades.
