Neurodivergent Employment Startup

Finding employment is often a struggle for neurodivergent adults, and a new startup called Mentra is working to change that. Unemployment rates for neurodivergent adults are eight times as high compared to those without disabilities, in part because it’s challenging to find jobs that utilize the unique skillsets of neurodivergent adults. Mentra uses AI technology to match workers with autism, ADHD, OCD, PTSD, and other cognitive differences with job openings that match their skills and interests. Mentra considers factors like aptitude, sensitivities, and neurotype, which helps employers find the best talent for a certain job. The platform is free for neurodivergent job seekers to use, and companies pay an annual fee to access the data. So far, Mentra’s one-year retention rate for job placements is 97.5%, and they are working to expand to more companies and areas of the world soon.
