What are your three B’s?
Babies, birthdays, and basics— they are our three divisions that allow us to provide compassionate support to families during all milestones. The baby division provides assistance to expecting families and new parents, guiding them through the journey of parenthood with resources and support. Our birthday celebrations ensure that every child, regardless of personal or financial circumstances, gets a happy birthday. The basic care program provides essential goods that support health and wellness needs of vulnerable families.
How did Beverly’s start?
In 2011, our founder met a young girl named Beverly at an after-school program where she learned that Beverly had never had her own birthday party or cake. Beverly’s PGH was born from that interaction— we wanted to help children experiencing homelessness and families in need have meaningful birthday celebrations. Since then, we’ve hosted over 1,300 birthday parties, given over 50,000 birthday cheer packages to children, and provided over 13,000 cakes. By prioritizing joy, recognition, and support, we are helping families create lasting memories.
What services do you provide for new families?
We partner with over 150 social service agencies and low-income schools throughout Southwestern Pennsylvania to identify new families in need of our services. We host over 35 baby showers a year to give baby items to new parents and help them feel celebrated and supported. We also provide free formula and clothing throughout a baby’s first year of life, and have resources for caregivers as well. Our Basics Boutique accompanies us to all birthday parties and baby showers to support families with product needs like clothing for growing babies, school supplies, baby gear, and more.
What is the Birthday Buddy program?
Our birthday division provides gifts to 11,000 children every year. You can sponsor a Birthday Buddy— child who shares your birthday— and help them celebrate with a Cheer Box. These are custom, curated birthday boxes that include toys, books, plush animals, snacks, personal care items, and more. On our website, you can enter your birthday and then select the name of the Birthday Buddy you’d like to sponsor. It costs only $50 to help your Birthday Buddy have the celebration they deserve.
