Football Player Gifts Scholarship

Zack Conti joined the Eastern Michigan University football team as a walk-on in 2019, meaning that he wasn’t eligible for an athletic scholarship. As a result, Conti worked multiple jobs to fund his tuition, continue playing football, and support his sick mother at home. His dedication was inspiring to the rest of the Eastern Michigan team, especially to fellow offensive lineman Brian Dooley. When Dooley learned that Conti was contemplating quitting the football team out of financial concerns, he knew he had to help. Dooley worked with the school and their football coach to give his athletic scholarship to Conti. Dooley’s generous gift will allow Conti to play football and have his tuition covered for the rest of his undergraduate and graduate career.
