Mary Silvestri has dreamt of dancing as a Rockette at Radio City Music Hall since she was a young girl. The Connecticut native planned to audition for the dance company when she was a teenager, but was unable to get to New York City alone for the tryouts. At 92 years old, Silvestri’s lifelong goal has come to fruition. The Rockettes invited Silvestri to their most recent auditions, where she practiced her kicks and dance moves in front of the 800 other dancers vying for a spot in the company. She chatted with current Rockettes to share her story, and the dancers were more than happy to help Silvestri fulfill her dancing dreams.
