A group of women over the age of 60 are redefining what it means to take the stage after forming a DJ collective called “Forever Fresh” and performing at a major music festival in Cologne, Germany. The idea began when festival organizers realized their lineup lacked representation for older women and invited seniors to learn how to DJ from scratch—even those who had never used a computer before. After training in mixing, transitions, and sound equipment, the women took to the stage and energized the crowd, with standout members including performers in their 70s, 80s, and even 90s. Their performance has gained attention for challenging age and gender stereotypes in the music industry, showing that creativity and self-expression don’t have an expiration date—and inspiring others to try something new at any stage of life.
