Walking Across the UK

Chris Lewis, a 43-year-old ex-paratrooper, recently completed a six year journey walking around the UK coastline to raise money for the armed forces nonprofit SSAFA. Since the walk began in August of 2017 in Llangennith beach, Lewis met his fiancee Kate, adopted a dog named Jet, and welcomed a son named Magnus. Kate left her teaching job to accompany Lewis on the journey, and the pair has spent the last three years on the road together. After walking 19,000 miles around the UK, Lewis was informed during the final mile that he had reached his fundraising goal of $500,000. Lewis, Kate, baby Magnus, and Jet all crossed the finish line together, met with cheers and praise from people all over the world who had been following Lewis’ story. The adventurer even received a letter from King Charles congratulating him on this incredible feat. SSAFA was instrumental in helping Lewis return to civilian life after serving as a paratrooper, and Lewis claims this was the least he could do to give back to the organization that has given him so much.
