US Women Make Olympics History

Although the Paris Olympics may have come to a close, stories of US women dominating the 2024 Games continue to emerge. Athletes on the US Women’s Basketball Team won their 8th consecutive gold medal, and the US Women’s Soccer Team received their 5th gold. The US Women’s Rugby Team brought home the country’s first ever Olympic medal in the sport after securing the bronze. Caroline Marks emerged victorious in women’s surfing, and Tara Davis-Woodhall won her first gold medal in the women’s long jump competition. Olympic legends Simone Biles, Katie Ledecky, and Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone added several medals to their resumes in gymnastics, swimming, and track. The Paris Games were the first time an equal number of men and women competed, and 26 out of the 40 gold medals awarded to the United States were won by women. Tune in to the Paralympic Games to see American women continue to triumph, which begin in Paris on August 28th!
