Travel blogger Johnny Ward became the first person to finish the daunting challenge of The Ultimate Explorer’s Grand Slam, which involves visiting every country in the world, visiting the North and South poles, and climbing the highest peak on every continent. He first became the youngest Irish person to visit every country, a journey that took him 10 years of near constant travel to complete. After completing the goal of seeing every country, Ward struggled to find his purpose until he came across The Ultimate Explorer’s Grand Slam. He climbed the seven summits, including Mount Everest and Kilimanjaro, and visited the North and South poles. The 40-year-old is now using his love for adventure to inspire others to explore the world. He’s planning an 150 km ultramarathon in the Sahara Desert and is encouraging others to complete The Ultimate Explorer’s Grand Slam. After seeing every corner of the planet, Ward’s newest goal is to have kids and show them the vast world that he has experienced.Â
