Teen’s Wish to Help Community

Jude Baker, a 14-year-old from Georgia, has battled a rare and aggressive cancer for the past two years. After enduring chemotherapy and intensive medical procedures, Jude qualified for a wish from the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Instead of asking for a celebrity meet-and-greet or a gift for himself, he used the opportunity to give back to his community. With support from the organization, Jude provided sleeping bags, backpacks stocked with essential items, and hot meals to over 300 people experiencing homelessness in his community. Inspired by his kindness, the community decided to help Jude in return, with local residents raising money to send Jude and his family on a special vacation. Jude is thankfully now in remission, and the teen hopes that his story will encourage others to give back however they can, even in life’s hardest moments.
