Seniors Compete in Video Game Tournament
A group of older adults is proving that competitive video gaming isn’t just for younger generations. Senior gamers from across the country are preparing to represent Team USA at the Global Esports Games, competing on an international stage while showing how gaming can help people stay socially connected and mentally engaged as they age. For many of the players, video games provide opportunities to build friendships, sharpen critical thinking skills, work as a team, and enjoy the excitement of competition. The seniors have embraced esports as a way to connect with others who share their interests, while challenging stereotypes about both aging and gaming. As they prepare to compete at the Global Esports Games, the Team USA seniors hope their dedication inspires others to embrace new skills, build community, and find new ways to have fun at any age.
