Saving Britain’s Loneliest Sheep

A group of Scottish farmers embarked on a secret mission to bring an abandoned sheep to her new forever home. Fiona, otherwise known as Britain’s loneliest sheep, was stranded on a remote island in the Scottish Highlands for the past two years. A kayaker photographed Fiona alone on the island last month, and the sheep garnered attention from animal rights groups hoping to bring her to safety. Five farmers and sheep shearers teamed up to save Fiona, carrying her down the island’s steep cliffs and transporting her to Dalscone Farm. Fiona is settling into farm life easily, despite now having to share grass with fellow animals. Dalscone’s farmers hope to use the wool sheared from Fiona to create an item that can be auctioned off for charity.
