New Mount Everest Record

Kami Rita Sherpa, a Nepali mountaineer, recently beat his own record for most Mount Everest summits completed. The 52-year-old climbed Everest for the 26th time, cementing his title as the most seasoned Everest climber in history. Kami Rita became familiar with Everest at a young age since his father was a professional mountain guide. After helping his father carry gear up to base camp starting at age 12, Kami Rita decided to make his first trek up the mountain in 1994 and has successfully reached the peak dozens of times since then. Kami Rita normally takes his annual ascent during the spring, and has broken his own record for the past four years.
