Can you tell me about your mission? 

Our mission is to provide a wide range of thoughtful and fundamental services to families with a child in medical crisis. We serve families referred by medical agencies, by building a network of services and people who ease the burden of life’s day-to-day obligations with compassion and care. We support families facing a range of critical medical challenges including cancer, organ transplants, NICU stays, mental health issues, and more. 

How does your work help families in medical crises? 

When a child receives a life-threatening medical diagnosis, the wholeness of the family is threatened. Every day, families facing a child’s medical crisis rely on us for urgent relief and practical support—groceries, baby supplies, gas cards, and other essentials that help them navigate the hardest days and stay close to their child during treatment. When everyday burdens are lifted, families can focus their energy where it belongs: on their child and on one another.

What kind of support do you offer? 

We offer transportation assistance to ensure families can safely take their child to and from treatments, school, and activities, or visit them in the hospital. Our food security program provides grocery deliveries with nutritious and easily prepared meals and gift cards. The home stability program offers cleaning products and household supplies to alleviate stresses related to household cleanliness. Our patient and family essential program gives clothing, strollers, cribs, books, toys, and more to kids and families in need. 

How can individuals get involved in your work? 

Volunteers are the heart of our mission. They deliver goods, assemble care bags, organize donation drives, and help families in need every step of the way. Volunteers schedule a time to pick up packages from one of our offices and deliver to families either at their home, hotel, or hospital. Donating helps make an immediate impact by allowing us to maintain our programs and help as many families as possible.
