Online creator and researcher He Shijie has developed a way to visualize piano music so that you can see the notes move and change in real time as they’re played, creating a bridge between sound and sight that can make music more accessible and engaging for learners of all ages. As the music plays, each note appears visually as a colored bar or glowing shape that moves across the screen in real time, rising and falling with pitch and stretching longer or shorter depending on how long the note is held. The overall effect is almost like watching the music dance—part sheet music, part light show— making the structure of a piece feel intuitive, immersive, and emotionally expressive without needing to understand the theory behind it. By turning music into an immersive audio-visual experience, this tool has the potential to inspire more people to explore piano playing, boost confidence in practice, and deepen appreciation for the art of music in a way that’s both fun and educational.
